Gettin' her THREE on!

Megan has been asking when she can get her two off and get her three on. Today is the day. She is gettin' her three on today. Here are some pictures to see how far she has come in one year. All the way from my angel baby to my big girl Preschooler. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did.

At bear world. She calls him "Azul".

This has been such a fun year. Megan lights up my life everyday. She teaches me things that are more valuable than anything I could ever learn at school. She loves her family, friends, Princess things, horses and cowgirls, Preschool and being a "big girl." I love her sense of humor and her desire to always want to know more. I love that she always reminds me to buckle her up in the car, say prayer before bed and kiss me before nap, bedtime and anytime we part. She is my little angel without wings. She is heaven sent and I thank Heavenly Father each day for her and what she brings to our family. I am a better person because of her. Happy birthday Megan.

Making Grampa Proud!!!

Grandparents are proud of their grandchildren for many reasons. Simply because they are their grandchildren, but also because of things that they do and say. Amy and Megan do many things that build a sense of pride and love. Today I would like to share how Amy has carried on my Dad's ledgend and made him proud.

Growing up my Dad ate many things that I thought were odd like DILL PICKLES and RAW POTATOES to name a few. I have never been a fan of dill pickles, sweet yes --- dill-never. I also have never been a fan of raw potatoes, cooked yes --- raw- not at all. Raw beets, well that is entirely another story that many already know and if you don't- - - - ask me and I will tell you.

About a month ago we went to lunch and on the plate next to the sandwich was a dill pickle. Sam gave her the dill pickle anticipating a humorous face, but instead she ate the whole thing while saying, mmmmmmmm... and wanted more. I immediately called my Dad who was thrilled and amused.

The other day I was cutting up potatoes for dinner and Amy thought one of them was a ball so she asked for it... I thought this will keep her busy while I finish... I looked back and she had eaten a chunck out of the potato saying, mmmmmmmm.....

So again she has made Grandpa proud.
Good Job Amy!

Princess Party!!!

The nursery in our ward had a Princess Party. All senior nursery and their sisters. So we dressed up and attended the Royal Ball, as Megan called it. After about 20 minutes of drama that I was not wearing a dress and that I should call for my fairy godmother I convinced her that I was a Princess by putting on a plastic crown that I found under the crib that I think came from a Happy Meal at McDonald's. She climbed into the coach (our car) slightly disappointed that there was no coachman to help her in and that our car had not been transformed into a glorious pumpkin carriage. We got there and put Princess Amy into her stroller and strolled into the gym at the church. Again, momentarily disappointed that the trumpets did not sound and her presence be made known to all in attendance. Then she saw the bubbles and all was right in paradise. She had arrived at the most magnificent party in the land. She danced in the bubbles and then asked me if I would hold her purse as she gleefully skipped across the floor to the Princess couch and then to the castle where she ran from one of the doors saying oh my slipper and then muttered the words, stop in the name of the king! And then she danced around to look at the lights and then to the face painting, but didn't want anything painted on her face and then to the mirror to look at her dress and check her crown. All the while it seemed as though she was in search of something. And then while I sat at the craft table making Amy a crown she informed me that there was something missing. She said there were no Princes. She asked me how she could to the music without a Prince. Holding in a laugh I said that there were a few Princes there, but she could also pretend and happy with that answer she was off again.
I did forget their lunches so at lunch time she quietly sipped her juice and waited for Brynne to bring her lunch. She was absolutely in Heaven. She was quite irritated when she realized that she needed to go potty and had to leave the Party, but she did not want to ruin her dress.
The REAL Princess’ as she called them sang songs, handed out stickers and read stories.
What a wonderful party, thank you to all those that made it possible.

Bear World!

As if the Princess Party weren't enough excitement for one day....
We went to bear world too. At the end of the day Megan said "this is the best day Mom."

The season opened Saturday and so they were letting Mothers in free. I had a coupon for a $1 off and 2 and under are free. So what a deal. We also got to feed the bears. They were having a great deal on that too. It was an unforgettable experience. We got to be very close to wild animals. And Megan got to feed the bears. We took lots of pictures and even a couple of video clips. I will try to put them on here later... Sam needs the computer.

Amy loved this stuffed bear and kept trying to lay on it.

In the petting zoo they had chickens, deer, goats, a pig, some wild birds, peacocks, geese and did I mention deer.

The rides were free with admission. Megan loved it.

This is one of the deer. Amy especially loved the deer.

Another ride with Dad.

Our family picture to document our outing.

This is Stormy, the Alpha wolf.

Amy and Megan both got to feed the deer. Amy really loved it. Megan wasn't sure she wanted the deer to lick her. When Sam first got the food out of the dispenser and held his hand out for Megan to take it, she must have thought it was for her. She took a piece and ate it. Well, she chewed it and spit it out.

Here we are again. Petting another deer. A really fun day.

This was a great Mother's day present. I have an awesome family and I am really glad that we got to spend the day together. And really glad that Brynne was able to come with us. We love her. She is an awesome aunt and the best sister ever.

RULES!!!!!!!

In response to My sister-in-law's post, I decided I should publish some of those oh so important rules that can be heard at our house.... As she said, rules are how we get through life and become successful people. I too find myself making up rules on a daily basis.
Here are some that could be heard today...
  1. Don't pick your nose
  2. Don't eat that... oh gross!
  3. It is not okay to eat something out of the garbage.
  4. Straws do not go in our noses.
  5. Your sister is not an aligator.
  6. Do not whack, bop, tap, hit, push, or whomp your sister.
  7. You are not allowed to jump in the crib while Amy is taking a nap.
  8. Do not open Amy's mouth while she is sleeping.
  9. AMY is not Gus Gus and you are not a cat. Be Cinderella instead. You may not bite her. You may not put her in a mouse trap.
  10. You can only push the buttons on Amy's bike while she is awake and while you are outside.
  11. You cannot go potty on Mommy.
  12. You may not go potty on Mommy's bed.
  13. Do not use jelly to make pictures on the furniture.
  14. Do not splash water on Amy's face.
  15. Do not pour water all over the bathroom floor.

Need I say.... It has been a crazy day, but nothing really out of the ordinary.

I love kids. They are so fun. So fearless and so silly sometimes.
