So, we went to campus today to figure out some financial aid stuff with Sam and then walk him to work. Many of you know what the Kimball building looks like, but for those of you that don't... It is the administration building with offices located along the outside of long rectangular lobby that is open to the 2nd floor. The echo ability in there is amazing. Every time we go, I am constantly telling Megan to use an inside voice. We got our financial aid stuff done and then walked to the parking office to drop Sam off (which is at the other end of the building). On our way there Megan kept running and saying catch me. I told her that we don't run inside. So she stopped. Then she said Daddy catch me started running again. I said Megan please don't run inside you can bump into things. We need to be careful. We can run outside. While running, she turned around part way to yell "okay Mom." And SMACK! and then a thud. And of course it echoed and then the screams that followed also echoed and demanded every one's attention. I am sure there were people leaning out of their windows to see what happened. Megan ran square into the brick wall and just like in the cartoons she bounced backward and landed on her back. My dear husband grabbed his mouth to ensure that Megan did not see him laughing. It did look kind of silly. I scooped her up and took her around the corner, but there was no stopping her screams from bouncing from wall to wall in the building. We assessed the damage and they were mostly "invisible scars", thankfully. We walked Sam to work and Arlen, his boss said hi to Megan and asked her how she was doing... She began sobbing again and told him that she was sad because she was running when she was not supposed to and the brick wall hit her in the head and she fell over and now she doesn't have anything to wipe off her tears and everyone can see that she is sad.
Oh, so I quickly hurried her out the door, but of course she slammed her fingers on the way out. We did make it home and she is now resting.
Poor girl.

That's rough. I'm sorry it was such a tough outting. Sometimes after something like that, you feel like you should never leave the house again....
